It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Mrs. Lisa A. (Oliver) Skoniecki, 53, a resident of Laurel Run Borough, passed into eternal life early the morning of Sunday, April 21st, 2024 while in the care of Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre following a recent illness.
Born on Thursday, October 15, 1970 in Wilkes-Barre, she was one of three children to the late Arthur A. "Artie" Sr. and Carol A. (Kuren) Oliver.
Educated in the city schools, Lisa was a graduate of the former Grand Army of the Republic Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre, class of 1988.
Until illness caused her early retirement, she was employed as a dedicated caregiver in the local child daycare industry; making a positive impact on the lives of many children at Magic Years in Wilkes-Barre.
Her biggest joy was spending time with her beloved grandchildren and the family dogs.
Lisa and her husband Brian shared more than 35 years of life together at the time of her passing. Her physical presence will be greatly missed by her family and all those who knew and loved her over the years.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Arthur A. "Artie" Oliver Sr. on April 12, 2010; her mom, Carol A. (Kuren) Oliver on August 9, 2018.
Left to cherish all the wonderful memories they keep of her in addition to her husband Brian at home are her sons; Brian Skoniecki Jr. and his companion Crystal Smith of Hanover Township and Josh Oliver and his companion Kim Shoemaker of Dallas. Her adoring grandchildren, Sophie, Jared and Scarlett; Brother, Arthur A. "Art" Oliver and his fiancée, Sandy Woychik of Wilkes-Barre; Sister, Denise M. Raub and her husband David of North Wilkes-Barre; Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and the family dogs.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to join Lisa's family for a gathering where fond memories and stories of her can be shared on Sunday, April 28th from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc., 625 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre.
Interment will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorial donations will be accepted at the funeral home in Lisa's memory.
