First let me send my sincere condolences at your loss. I did not know John but saw his obit and noticed his name is similar to John Minar who died in 1907 and is buried at the Old Slovak Cemetery on William St. in Plains which for the past 7 months I have spent over 300 hours trying to restore, map and write a documentary for the Historical Society and the NEPGenealogical Society to try to honor these wonderful people. Andrew Ungvarsky is also buried there. I am hoping to find some family members who can just tell me a little about their relatives who are buried there such as what they enjoyed or did for a living. I mean no disrespect by bringing this to your attention during your time of grieving but it is extremely hard to find information about this historic over 100 year old cemetery and I have worked so hard by myself to take on this task and am honored to do it. If these are not any of your relatives maybe you know someone who has relatives buried there who could help me or even if the John V. Morris Funeral Home would like to contribute their historic history with this cemetery I would appreciate it. I believe that you are never really gone as long as you are remembered and saving this cemetery is one way for me to do it. I am so sorry for your loss.
