Mrs. Patricia A. (Rukstalis) Tlucek, 75, a resident of the Brookside section of the city, passed into Eternal Life early Wednesday morning in the coronary care unit of Wilkes-Barre General Hospital following an illness.
     Born October 22, 1941 in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter to the late William and Nellie (Sankus) Rukstalis.  Educated in the city schools, she was a graduate of the James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre.
     Until her retirement in 1999, Mrs. Tlucek was employed in the environmental department of the former Nesbitt Memorial Hospital, Kingston, and also worked in the housekeeping industry for several area businesses in the Wyoming Valley.
     In her spare time, Pat was an avid reader of all types of novels, and is remembered as being a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family.
     She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. John E. Tlucek, a retired Wilkes-Barre City police officer, best known as "Big John" on December 5, 2007.  At the time of his passing, the couple shared 44 years of married life together.  On November 29, 1993, the couple lost their youngest daughter, Rebecca Ann Tlucek, following the passing of her child Charles Eric.  She was also preceded by several brothers and sisters.
     Left to mourn her passing are her children, Susan Madara and her husband Harry of Plymouth; Joseph Tlucek of Wyoming Valley; Laura Scaffido and her fiance Gary Wilgus of Blakeslee and John Tlucek and his wife Cindy of Red Rock, Arizona. Numerous Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren; Sisters, Connie Hawley of Maryland, Romaine Mackey of Elverson, PA and Barbara Hufford of Kingston; Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
     Funeral services for Mrs. Tlucek will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. from the North Wilkes-Barre location of the John V. Morris Family Funeral Homes Inc., 625 North Main Street, The Reverend Kenneth M. Seegar, pastor of the Parish of Saint Andre Bessette, North Wilkes-Barre, will serve as celebrant.
     Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, 1594 South Main Street, Hanover Township.
     Relatives and friends may join the Tlucek family for visitation and remembrances Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
