Daniel Raymond Hergert

     Mr. Daniel Raymond "Danny" Hergert, a resident of the North End section of Wilkes-Barre, passed into eternal life unexpectedly Thursday evening at his residence.

     Born February 4, 1956 in Wilkes-Barre, he just celebrated his 63rd birthday two weeks ago.  He was the younger of two sons to Mrs. Martha (Valko) Hergert and the late Mr. Ernest Hergert.

     Educated in the city schools, he was a member of the 1973 graduating class of the James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre.

     Until his retirement, Danny worked for the former Acme Warehouses of Forty-Fort for several years as a laborer.

     He was a member of the Parish of Saint Andre Bessette, North Wilkes-Barre.

     He was preceded in death by his father, former Wilkes-Barre Police officer Ernest Hergert on January 27, 1999; by his sister-in-law, Marie A. (Sulzinski) Hergert on May 21, 1998 and  by his former wife, Carol J. (Sochko) Hergert on December 23, 2005.

     Left to mourn his passing are his beloved mother, Mrs. Martha Hergert at home; brother Mr. John "Jack" Hergert of Anthem, Arizona; Niece, Jennifer Wengzin of South Wilkes-Barre; his great-nephew Zachary;  several cousins and neighborhood friends.

     Per Danny's previous request, funeral services will be private and at the convenience of his family with no formal visitation hours.

     Interment will take place in Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Cemetery of Saint Andre Bessette Parish, Dorchester Drive, Dallas.
