Lillian Skillinge Obituary

     Miss Lillian A. "Lil" Skillinge, 84, formerly of Plains Township and a resident of Saint Luke's Villa, passed into Eternal Life late Wednesday evening in the care of the Partridge-Tippet Nursing Center of the Wesley Village Campus, Jenkins Township following a recent illness.

     Born March 27, 1935 in Plains Township, she was one of four children to the late Samuel and Catherine (Konitski) Skillinge.  Educated in the Plains schools, she was a graduate of the former Plains High School.

     Until her retirement, Miss Skillinge was employed by the Social Security Administration Wilkes-Barre Office as a Supervisor.  Prior to that, she worked with Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania for several years.

     Lillian is remembered as being a loving sister and aunt to her adoring family of whom will greatly miss her presence in their lives.  She was also devoted to her Roman Catholic faith.

     In her spare time, Lil enjoyed her many trips to casinos in Atlantic City, New Jersey and Mohegan Sun Pocono.

     Miss Skillinge was preceded in death by brothers Walter and Daniel Skillinge.

     Left to cherish the wonderful memories of Lillian are her sister, Mrs. Charlotte J. Jescavage; Several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

     Private funeral services for Miss Skillinge were conducted in the care of the North Wilkes-Barre location of the John V. Morris Family Funeral Homes Inc., 625 North Main Street, with her funeral Mass held in Saint Therese Roman Catholic Church, 64 Pioneer Avenue Shavertown.

     The Reverend James J. Paisley, pastor, and personal family friend, served as celebrant and homilist.

     Interment with the Rite of Committal was conducted in Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Cemetery of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Hudson.  Per the family's wishes, there were no formal visitation hours.
