Linda Cline Obituary

Mrs. Linda L. Cline, 69, formerly of South Wilkes-Barre and Patterson, New Jersey, passed into Eternal Life Wednesday just after 12:00 noon, surrounded by her beloved family.  She passed in the comfort of the home of her daughter, Brenda Walley, Hughestown, where she recently resided, following a valiant battle with cancer.

Born October 11, 1950 in Patterson, Passaic County, New Jersey, she was the sixth of seven children to the late Albert and Emma (McClurry) Cox.  Educated in the New Jersey schools, Linda was a member of the 1968 graduating class of the East Side High School of Patterson, which was featured in the motion picture "Stand By Me".

Following the family's relocation to the Wyoming Valley, they settled on Carlisle Street in South Wilkes-Barre for several years.  After the passing of her beloved husband, Mr. Ronald William Cline on September 22, 2014, and haven been stricken ill, she then moved to live with her daughter, Brenda in Hughestown until her passing.  When Ronald passed, the couple shared some thirty-four years of married life together.

Mrs. Cline is remembered as being a woman who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.  What brought her the most joy was being with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and dear friends.

Her family recalls her loving ways as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her adoring family.  Linda's presence will be greatly missed by those she touched in this life.

In addition to the passing of her husband Ronald, she was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish the wonderful memories they hold of their mother are her children, Henry Powers of Pittston; Brenda Walley, with whom she recently resided; Tammi Anthony and Tonya Cline, both of Wilkes-Barre;  Numerous  grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many wonderful friends she made over the years.

Per Linda's previous request, funeral services will be private and at the convenience of her family.
