Raymond Joseph Ozehoski

February 4, 1935 ~ November 23, 2017 (age 82) 82 Years Old


      Mr. Raymond Joseph Ozehoski, 82, a resident of Edgewater Park, New Jersey, formerly of the Honey Pot section of Nanticoke, passed into Eternal Life early Thanksgiving morning in the care of the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia following a recent illness.

     Born February 4, 1935 in Nanticoke, he was a son to the late Samuel and Victoria (Novak) Ozehoski.  Educated in the Nanticoke schools, Raymond was a graduate of the Nanticoke High School.  He graduated from the former Wilkes College in Wilkes-Barre following his service in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

      He was employed for some thirty-eight years as a high school science teacher, in both the New Jersey and Philadelphia school systems.

     Raymond remained active with various class reunions held over the years from both Wilkes College and Nanticoke High School. 

             Always an avid nature lover, Raymond built his own vacation home in the Poconos, where he spent most of his free time with family and friends. 

     He and his wife, the former Lourdes Lim would have celebrated forty-five years of married life together in December of this year.

     He was preceded in death by sisters Mrs. Elizabeth Zasvislak and Mrs. Frances Prawdzik as well as by a brother, Mr. Edward Ozehoski.

     Left to mourn his passing in addition to his beloved wife Lourdes at home are the couple's children, Mrs. Laura O. Bleickardt and her husband Peter of Neptune, N.J. and son Mr. Carl Ozehoski and his fiancee, Miss Tracy Bozentka of Brooklyn, NY; Grandchildren, Raymond M. Ozehoski, Elliott and Lydia Bleickardt; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Teresa Ozehoski; Several nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

     Funeral services for Mr. Ozehoski will be conducted on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the Wilkes-Barre Heights location of the John V. Morris Family Funeral Homes Inc., 281 East Northampton Street, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Faustina Kowalska Roman Catholic Parish, 520 South Hanover Street, Nanticoke.  The Reverend James R. Nash, pastor will serve as celebrant and homilist.

     Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Stanislaus Roman Catholic Cemetery, 38 West Church Street, Nanticoke.

     Relatives and friends may join Mrs. Ozehoski and her family for visitation and remembrances Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
