Mrs. Theresa (Fioti) Gigliotti, 89, a resident of Wyoming Street in the North End section of the city, entered into Eternal Life peacefully early Monday morning in the care of the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, following a recent illness at her home last weekend.
Born June 19, 1928 in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late Vito and Concetta (Fria) Fioti.
Since 1949, she was employed some thirty-six years with the former S&S Manufacturing Company as a seamstress, retiring in 1985.
Mrs. Gigliotti was a member of Saint Benedict Parish, Parsons section of the city and also held membership in the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank on May 14, 1998. At the time of his passing, the couple shared fourty-two years of married life together.
Also preceding her were sisters Concetta Fioti and more recently, Mrs. Mary Sgromo as well as by brothers Andrew and Joseph Fioti.
Left to mourn her passing, are her son, Daniel V., at home; Several nieces, nephews, dear neighbors and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gigliotti will be conducted on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the North Wilkes-Barre location of the John V. Morris Family Funeral Homes Inc., 625 North Main Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Benedict Parish, 155 Austin Avenue. The Reverend John C. Lambert, pastor, will serve as celebrant and homilist.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, 1594 South Main Street, Hanover Township.
Relatives, neighbors and friends may join Mrs. Gigliotti's family for visitation and remembrances Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
