Bernadine Wolf Obituary

     Mrs. Bernadine T. (Ferkel) Wolf, formerly of Orchard and First Streets in Plymouth, passed peacefully into Eternal Life just after 1:00 a.m. the morning of Wednesday, June 16, 2021 in the Guardian Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Sheatown section of Newport Township, where she recently resided.

     Born June 7, 1924 in Plymouth, Mrs. Wolf had just celebrated her 97th birthday a week prior with her family.  She was educated at the former Saint Stephen's Parochial School and later attended the former Plymouth High School.

     Until her formal retirement, Mrs. Wolf was employed in the valley's garment industry by the former Liberty Silk Mill of Edwardsville for many years.

     Devoted to her Catholic faith, she previously held membership in Saint Stephen's Roman Catholic Church, Wadham Street, Plymouth until its closure and subsequent merger into All Saints Parish.

     In her spare time, Mrs. Wolf was an avid bingo player who enjoyed word search puzzles and watching "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy".

     She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Floyd J. Wolf on May 6, 2000.  At the time of his passing, the couple shared 55 years of married life together being married on January 20, 1945.  The couple could often be seen dancing at the WVIA television studios many weekends to the uplifting sounds of live Polka music.

     In addition to her husband Floyd, Mrs. Wolf was preceded in death by Brothers; Edward Ferkel, Albert Ferkel; twin sister, Margaret Melick; Son-in-law, Martin Wanyo and granddaughter, Amanda Wolf.

     Left to cherish the wonderful memories they keep of their mother are her children, Bernadette T. Cooper and her husband James, of Jackson Township, with whom, Mrs. Wolf previously resided; Matthew M. Wolf and his wife Suzanna of Plymouth; Mary L. Wanyo of Spring Hill, Florida and Ann Marie Wolf along with her spouse, Letty Kress of Gettysburg, PA; Six adoring grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; Several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

     Funeral services for Mrs. Wolf will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. from the John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc., 625 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Andre Bessette, 668 North Main Street.  Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Stephen's Roman Catholic Cemetery of All Saints Parish, Jackson Road, Lehman Township.

     Relatives and friends may join Mrs. Wolf's family for visitation and shared remembrances Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
