Bonnie Karazia Obituary

      Mrs. Bonnie Jean (Pugh) Karazia, 54, formerly of the West Side, currently a resident of the North End section of Wilkes-Barre, passed into Eternal Life Saturday night in the care of The Gardens at East Mountain, Plains Township where she recently resided following health complications.

     Born November 6, 1964 in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Yakoski) Pugh Sr.  She was educated in both the Wyoming Valley West and Wilkes-Barre Area School Districts.  She later furthered her education by attaining her certificate as a Certified Nursing Assistant from Allied Services, John Heinz Rehabilitation Center, Wilkes-Barre Township.

     Until illness caused her early retirement, Bonnie was employed as an exchange technician for Hospital Central Supply Company in Kingston for some twenty years.  Prior to that, she was employed as a certified nursing assistant for the former Heritage House and Summit Nursing Homes, and most recently for River Street Manor, all of Wilkes-Barre.

     In her youth, she was a member of the Awanas Youth Group of Kingston.  When her children were young, Bonnie was active with the North End Little League Association.

     Bonnie Jean is remembered as being a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend to her adoring family.   She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her in this life.

     She and her husband, Mr. John "Jake" Karazia Sr., celebrated thirty years of life together in April.

     In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by brothers, Francis Pugh Sr.; John "Jack" Pugh and Ernest Urganus Jr. as well as granddaughter, Sierrah; goddaughter, Candice and dear friend, Barbara Rinker.

     Left to cherish her memory and celebrate her life in addition to her beloved husband Jake at home are the couple's children, Nelliene Rinker of Wilkes-Barre; Rhiannon Sheridan and her husband Nick of Plymouth; John "Big John" Karazia Jr. and his fiancee, Kaitlyn Rakowski of the Hudson section of Plains Township; Five Grandchildren including Daniel, Jackson, Michael, Mikynli, Kenneth; Brothers, Michael Urganus of Plymouth; Joseph Pugh and his companion Cathy Fox of Wilkes-Barre; Numerous nieces and nephews and dear friends including her best friend, Barbara Brennan, her husband Jay and family of Hunlock Creek.

      Relatives and friends are invited to join Jake and his family for visitation and remembrances of Bonnie Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the North Wilkes-Barre location of the John V. Morris Family Funeral Homes Inc., 625 North Main Street where words of scripture and comfort will be shared.

     Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

     In lieu of floral tributes, Bonnie’s family would be humbled if those wishing to give a monetary donation, kindly do so at the funeral home office for their discretion.
