Mrs. Carol Ann (Rackley) Chaban, 71, a resident of Rutter Avenue, Kingston, passed into Eternal Life unexpectedly Saturday morning in the comfort of her residence.
Born July 2, 1948 in Wasco, Kern County, California, she was the daughter of the late Earl Dean and Ollie Maxine (Brogdon) Rackley.
Mrs. Chaban was educated in the California schools prior to her family's relocation to the Wyoming Valley.
In her spare time, Carol enjoyed the Wednesday Night Mixers bowling league at Stanton Lanes and later at Chacko's in Wilkes-Barre.
She is remembered as being a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her adoring family. She will be sadly missed by all those she touched in this life.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Lawrence P. "Larry" Chaban on March 6, 2011. At the time of his passing, the couple shared some forty years of married life together.
Left to hold her memory dear are her children, Matthew, Missy and her partner Dawn, from Kingston, Jimmy, in Nanticoke, and Sara, also from Kingston; Grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Alexandria, Corwyn, Kaylee and Bobbie Ann Chaban, and L.J. Ralston, Two great-grandchildren; Gregory Chaban and Teagan Smith. Several nieces, nephews, neighbors and dear friends.
Per her previous request, funeral services will be private and at the convenience of her family. The John V. Morris Family Funeral Homes Inc. of Wilkes-Barre is once again honored to care for our friends, the Chaban family.
