It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to those who knew and loved her in this life. Mrs. Clotilda R. "Cloe" (Pocceschi) Kozelsky, 93, a well-known resident of Wilkes-Barre's North End neighborhood, passed peacefully into eternal life during the Easter octave on Thursday, April 9th.
Born Christmastime on December 22, 1932 in Pittston, she was one of eight children to the late Modesto and Fannie (Colondo) Pocceschi.
Educated in the Pittston area schools, she was a graduate of the former Pittston Township High School.
Cloe lovingly invested her time into the care of her husband, home and raising three sons while balancing work in the hospitality industry at Pocono Downs for over 30 years.
Devoted to her Roman Catholic faith, she held membership in Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Plains Township; having previously been an active member of Saint Andre Bessette, formerly Saint Stanislaus Kostka Parish of North Wilkes-Barre, prior to their closures and subsequent mergers.
She and her husband, Mr. Robert L. Kozelsky celebrated sixty-six years of married life together on May 9th, 2025. Above all else, her family and faith were the cornerstones of her life. You could always count on a smile, especially when referring to her grandchildren and boys and you could always count on a card game with Cloe.
Her life was not without heartache. Sadly, she bid farewell to a son, Mr. Joseph G. Kozelsky on May 4, 2019. She mourned the loss of her siblings and was preceded in death by sisters; Nancy and Lucy Pocceschi; and brothers Arthur, John, Robert and Lawrence Pocceschi.
Left to cherish all the wonderful memories they now keep of her besides her beloved husband Robert at home are the couple's sons; Robert J. Kozelsky and his wife Lori of Mountain Top; Michael D. Kozelsky and his wife Kimberly of Brigantine, N.J.; Grandchildren, Anna Kozelsky and Michael Kozelsky along with his wife Marlee; Brother, Mr. Gabriel "Gabe" Pocceschi of Harding; Several generations of nieces and nephews, neighbors and dear friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kozelsky will be conducted on Friday, April 17th with her funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in the Parish of Saints Peter and Paul, 13 Hudson Road, Plains Township. Her former pastor, the Reverend Kenneth M. Seegar, who currently serves as Senior Priest for both Good Shepherd Parish in Drums and Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Freeland; will serve as celebrant and homilist. Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary Diocesan Catholic Cemetery, 1594 South Main Street, Hanover Township.
Relatives and friends may join Mr. Kozelsky and his family for visitation and shared remembrances directly at church Friday morning from 8:45 a.m. until the time of services.
