Danny H. Yelland

     Mr. Danny H. Yelland, 74, a resident of the Hudson section of Plains Township, passed peacefully into eternal life early Monday morning in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, following a recent illness.

     Born on Saturday, January 3, 1948 in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son to the late Thomas and Anna (Metzger) Yelland.  Educated in the city schools, he was a member of the 1966 graduating class of the former James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre.

     Until his retirement, Mr. Yelland was employed for over forty years with Linde Enterprises of Pittston, where he served as a superintendent.

     In his spare time and enjoying the outdoors, Danny was an avid hunter and fisherman. 

     He and his wife, the former Annamae Drevenak recently celebrated fifty-four years of married life together this past September 7th.

     Above all else, Danny is remembered as being a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather to his adoring family.  His physical presence will be greatly missed by all those he knew in this life.

     He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters and by a grandson, Gary Josulevicz.

     Left to cherish the memories they keep of him in addition to his beloved wife Annamae at home are the couple's children; Thomas Henry Yelland and his wife Michelle of Wilkes-Barre; Erika Josulevicz and her husband Gary of Allentown; Shane Yelland and his wife Megan of Laflin; Shawn Yelland and his fiancé Lindsey Connell of Mountain Top; Danny Yelland Jr. and his wife Nicole of Salt Lake City, UT; Fourteen Grandchildren;  Three Great-Grandchildren;  Brother Robert Yelland of Wilkes-Barre; Sisters, Mrs. Verna Hogan of Forty-Fort, Mrs. Betty McGrady and her husband Thomas of Wilmington, DE; Several nieces, nephews, former co-workers and dear friends.

     Memorial funeral services for Danny will be conducted on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. from the John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc., 625 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre.

     Interment will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.

     Relatives and friends may call Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services.
