Mrs. Dolores M. (Spak) Baloga, 78, a resident of Wilkes-Barre's North End neighborhood, passed peacefully into Eternal Life late Saturday evening in the comfort of her home with her beloved family at her bedside.
Born September 2, 1942 in Plains Township, she was one of four children to the late Michael and Jenny (Kalinowski) Spak. Educated in the Plains schools, she was a member of the 1960 graduating class of the former Plains Memorial High School.
In her youth, Mrs. Baloga previously worked for the catalog department of J.C. Penney Company and later for the Hickory Farms Store, both in the Wyoming Valley Mall. Later in life, she was employed by Michael’s Family Restaurant on River Street in Plains for several years.
Above all else, Dolores is remembered for her love of family. She was a loving devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her adoring family. Her physical presence will be greatly missed by all those she touched; especially by her grandchildren who were the light of her life.
Mrs. Baloga was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Cyril B."Cy" Baloga, who passed eleven months to the day prior; on May 10, 2020. At the time of Mr. Baloga's passing, the couple shared fifty-three years of married life together.
Dolores' family would like to gratefully acknowledge the care and compassion shown her by Allied Services Hospice Care, especially in her final days.
Left to cherish the many memories they hold of her are the couple's son, Mr. Vincent C. Baloga and his wife Jennifer of Freeland; Grandchildren, Brian, Lindsey, Zaine and Azariah Baloga; Brother, Mr. Daniel Spak and his wife Carol of Tobyhanna; Sisters, Miss Bernadine Spak and Mrs. Carol Frankovich along with her husband Raymond, all of Plains Township; Brother-in-law, Mr. Joseph Baloga and his wife Sally, also of North Wilkes-Barre; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, neighbors and dear friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Baloga will be conducted on Saturday with her funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Andre Bessette, 668 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. The Reverend Kenneth M. Seegar, pastor will serve as celebrant and homilist. Those attending are asked to assemble directly at church for Mass. Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Cemetery of Saint Andre Bessette Parish, Dorchester Drive, Dallas.
Relatives and friends may join the Baloga family for a walk-through visitation and shared remembrances Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc., 625 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. Individuals attending the visitation and/or funeral services are required to wear facial coverings while funeral home staff will assist with spatial distancing.
