Mrs. Dorothy A. (Salvi) Savage, 91, a resident of Palm Springs, Florida, passed into Eternal Life early the morning of Wednesday, May 15, 2024 in the HCA JFK Medical Center, Atlantis, Florida, following a recent illness.
Born on Thursday, April 20, 1933 in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter to the late Louis and Anna (Metsko) Salvi, formerly of Sambourne Street, South Wilkes-Barre.
She was educated in the city schools and raised in the Roman Catholic faith, having previously attended Saint Nicholas Roman Catholic Church.
In her spare time, she previously was an avid bowler.
Family was the focal point of Dorothy's life. She was known by her siblings as "the Rock" that kept their family together over the years.
She was the wife to the late Mr. Robert Savage, also previously of Palm Springs, Florida.
She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her in this life, especially her daughter Anna S. Michael and her husband Larry of Murphy, North Carolina; Her beloved grandchildren Anthony Michael and his wife Stephanie and Hailey Carter and her husband Jacob; her sister, Louise Gryscavage, several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Private visitation will be conducted in Florida.
Interment will be held locally in Saint Mary's Diocesan Roman Catholic Cemetery, 1594 South Main Street on Tuesday, May 28th at 11:00 a.m.
Relatives and friends are asked to gather in Saint Mary's Cemetery Chapel by 10:45 a.m. for the Rite of Committal.
