Mrs. Eleanor B. (Juris) "Yurish" Howe, 89, a beloved mother, cherished friend and resident of North Wilkes-Barre, passed peacefully into eternal life Monday morning while in the care of the Highland Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Exeter following a recent illness.
Born on Thursday, January 30, 1936 in Wilkes-Barre, she would have celebrated her ninetieth birthday in one month. She was a daughter to the late Joseph and Barbara (Sekel) Juris.
Educated in the city schools, she was a member of the 1953 graduating class from the former James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre.

In her youth, she was an avid bowler and bowled on several leagues in the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Slovak School. More recently, she enjoyed reading and solving a good crossword puzzle.
Above all else, Mrs. Howe was a dedicated wife and mother who embraced her role as homemaker with unwavering love and devotion. She created a nurturing home filled with laughter, support and countless joyful memories.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. James B. Howe Jr. on July 11, 2010. At the time of Mr. Howe's passing, the couple shared fifty-five years of married life together. She also bid farewell to her son, Charles Howe on July 20, 1981; a daughter Sharon Howe Price on November 17, 2012 as well as several brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish all the memories they keep of their mother are her daughters; Linda Sabol and her husband Carlton of Harding; Nancy Yankowski and her husband Bill of Plains Township and Marianne Fox of North Wilkes-Barre; Nine grandchildren; Six great-grandchildren and many wonderful family friends.
