Eli Norris Obituary

Mr. Eli Norris, 62, a resident of Wilkes-Barre's Rolling Mill Hill neighborhood, passed into Glory Saturday, the evening
of July 20th, 2024 while in the care of the hospice inpatient unit at the Department of Veterans' Affairs Medical Center,
Wilkes-Barre, following a recent illness.
Born on Friday, October 13, 1961 in Brooklyn, New York, he was one of four children to the late Elijah and Jessie
(Jefferson) Norris. He was educated in the New York City school system, from which he graduated high school.
Mr. Norris proudly served our country with the United States Marine Corps. He was stationed in North Carolina,
serving as a combat engineer for over eight years, earning the rank of Sergeant at the time of his honorable discharge
from military duties on August 1, 1990.
In his spare time and being a lover of the outdoors, Mr. Norris was an avid fisherman and thoroughly enjoyed the
many fishing trips he made over the years.
Besides his parents, Eli was preceded in death by his brother, LaDondi Norris eight months prior in November of
2023.
Left to cherish all the memories they keep of him are his sons; Shalamar Brewington and Shadell Norris; Daughter,
Kamika Norris; Several grandchildren; Sisters; Sheralla Williams, his caregiver, along with her husband Shelton of
Illinois; and Beonka Warren of New York City, New York; Several nieces, nephews, former neighbors and dear friends.
Per his previous request, funeral services and interment for Mr. Norris will be held privately and at the convenience
of his family with no formal visitation.

Norris, and family at this time.
