Miss Faith E. Sabol, 76, a resident of Guardian Elder Care, Nanticoke, and a former resident of Wilkes-Barre's North End neighborhood, passed peacefully into eternal rest Monday evening in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital with her beloved family at her bedside.
Born June 4, 1944 in Wilkes-Barre, she was the only child to the late Nicholas and Helen H. (Horensky) Sabol.
Educated in the city schools, Miss Sabol furthered her education by attaining several degrees from the former Wilkes College, Wilkes-Barre.
Until her retirement, she was employed for many years by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; Social Security Administration, Wilkes-Barre offices.
Faith was a life member of Saint Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Wilkes-Barre, where she previously was active in various congregation affairs.
She was preceded in death by her father Nicholas on November 20, 1994, her mother Helen on March 4, 2000 and most recently by her cousin, George Horensky on December 16, 2020.
Left to cherish her memory are her cousins and caregivers, Mrs. Anna Horensky of Wilkes-Barre, her sons William and Carl along with cousins Emma and Ray Horensky of Ohio and John and Ellen Check of Forty-Fort; Friends at Guardian Elder Care and fellow congregants.
Funeral services for Miss Sabol will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 663 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. The Reverend Peter J. Haenftling, pastor, will serve as celebrant and leader of worship.
Interment with the rite of committal will follow in the family lot of Fern Knoll Burial Park, Midland Avenue, Dallas.
Relatives and friends may join Faith's family for visitation and shared remembrances directly at church Friday morning from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services.
