Helen S. (Zawada) Man

     Mrs. Helen S. Man, 89, a resident of Tiffany Court at Kingston, formerly of Courtright Avenue in Wilkes-Barre's North End neighborhood, passed into Eternal Life Saturday afternoon in Tiffany Court following a recent illness.

     Born October 28, 1930 in Wilkes-Barre, she was one of seven children and the only daughter to the late Stanley Zawada and Anna Marie Prcystarz-Tymczyszyn-Zawada-Wilgus.

     Educated in city schools, she was a graduate of the former Saint Stanislaus Kostka Parochial School and the James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre.

     She was a member of the Parish of Saint Andre Bessette, North Wilkes-Barre, having been a life member of the former Saint Stanislaus Kostka Roman Catholic Church prior to its closure and subsequent merger.

     A consummate homemaker, Mrs. Man is remembered as being a loving devoted wife and mother especially during her son's debilitating illness.

      Later in life, she ran the Luzerne County Senior Citizen's Center in Plains Township and also held membership in Take Off Pounds Sensibly.

     Mrs. Man was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Elmer Man on April 6, 1989.  At the time of his passing, the couple shared forty-one years of married life together.  She was also preceded by a daughter, Mrs. Elsa Sennett in 1996; by Sons-in-Law, Mr. Jerry Sennett and Dr. Rene Sullesta along with her six brothers.

     Left to cherish her memory are her son, Mr. Frank Elmer Man of Edwardsville; Daughter, Mrs. Joan M. Sullesta of Hyattsville, Maryland; Grandchildren, Michael and Rebecca Sullesta; Nephews, Mr. Delbert Zawada and his wife Pat and Mr. Robert Zawada and his wife Pat, all of Mountain Top; Mr. Joseph Zawada and his wife Diane of Allentown; Several great and great-great nieces, nephews and dear friends.

     Memorial funeral services for Mrs. Man will be conducted on Friday, March 6th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Maple Hill Cemetery, 68 East Saint Mary's Road, Hanover Township.

     Inurnment will immediately follow next to her husband in the family lot.
