Joan Zemanik

Joan Zemanik, 74, of Wilkes-Barre, passed into Eternal Life Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022, at her home.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre, daughter of the late Stephen A. Zemanik and Julia Balko Zemanik. Joan was a graduate of Coughlin High School. Before retiring in 2012, she was employed by Fairchild Semiconductor, Mountain Top, formerly known as RCA.

Preceding her in death were her two brothers, Stephen A. Zemanick and Richard Zemanik; and nephews, Kenneth Zemanik and Richard J. Zemanik.

Raised in the Catholic faith, Joan was previously a member of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Slovak Roman Catholic Church, North Wilkes-Barre, prior to its closure.

Left to cherish the memories they hold of her, Joan is survived by nephew, Stephen M. Zemanick and his wife, Janeen, Chesterbrook; and niece, Chef Susan Zemanick and her husband, Jorin Ostroska, New Orleans, La.; Cherished and beloved great-nieces, Kaitlyn Zemanick; and Simone and Lola Ostroska; nieces, Marilyn Zemanik; and Deborah Friel; and numerous great-nephews, great-nieces and dear friends.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Andre Bessette Parish, 668 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. A Mass of the Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Dallas.
