John J. "Jack" Draynock

December 18, 1942 ~ July 18, 2025 (age 82) 82 Years Old

John Draynock Obituary

     Mr. John J. "Jack" Draynock, 82, a lifelong resident of Wilkes-Barre's North End neighborhood, passed peacefully into eternal life shortly after noon on Friday, July 18th, 2025 while in the care of the Riverstreet Manor, following a recent illness.

     Born on Friday, December 18, 1942 in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, he was one of two children to the late Mr. Michael J. and Mrs. Emanuela C. (Georgick) Draynock.

     Educated in the local schools, he graduated from the former Saint John the Evangelist Parochial School; Saint Mary's High School, class of 1960 and took courses at the Wilkes-Barre Business College, all previously located in Wilkes-Barre.

     Following his formal education Jack proudly served our country in the United States Air Force for four years, being stationed in Turkey.

     Until his retirement, Jack served over twenty years in the finance department of the Department of Defense both in Philadelphia and in Ohio.

     He is remembered as being a loving, devoted son to his parents; a beloved brother and uncle to his family who will now miss his physical presence in their lives.  May he now rest in the peace of our Risen Lord!

     Left to keep his memory are his sister close to their hearts are his sister, Mrs. Alicia P. Gendall of Winter Springs, Florida; Nephew, Mr. John M. Gendall and his companion, Ms. Donna Neck, also of Winter Springs, Florida; Several neighbors and dear friends.

     Per his previous request, funeral services for Mr. Draynock will be held privately and at the convenience of his family with no formal visitation.

     Interment will be next to his parents in Oaklawn Cemetery, 1250 South Main Street, Hanover Township.
