Joseph Bartusiewicz Obituary

     Mr. Joseph T. Bartusiewicz, 85, a resident of Wilkes-Barre's Parsons neighborhood, passed into Eternal Life Tuesday afternoon in the Pearsall Heart Hospital of Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center following a prolonged illness.

     Born February 23, 1936 in Sugar Notch, he was the last of three sons to the late Joseph and Helen (Buchoski) Bartusevich.  He attended and graduated from the former Sugar Notch schools.

     Following his formal education, Mr. Bartusiewicz proudly served our country with the United States Army as a military police officer with the 307th MP Co. Corps., Wilkes-Barre.

     Until his retirement, he was employed for many years as a route driver for Diamond Manufacturing, Wood Street, Wilkes-Barre.

     He and his wife, Phyllis (Pesotski) Bartusiewicz recently celebrated sixty-one years of married life together on October 29th.

     One of his favorite pastimes was sitting on his front porch.  He will be greatly missed by his family and all those he touched in this life.

     He was preceded in death by a daughter, Miss Joanne Bartusiewicz in 1986 and by brothers, Mr. Michael Bartsavage and Mr. John Bartusevich.

     Left to cherish his memory in addition to his beloved wife Phyllis, are the couple's daughter, Mrs. Diane Barnefiher and her husband Gerry of Harleysville;  Grandchildren, Scott, Leanne, Kelly and Brian Barnefiher along with several dear friends.

     Funeral services for Mr. Bartusiewicz will be conducted on Saturday with his funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Andre Bessette, 668 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre.  The Reverend Kenneth M. Seegar, pastor, will serve as celebrant and homilist.

     Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, 1594 South Main Street, Hanover Township.

     Relatives and friends may join Mrs. Bartusiewicz and her family for visitation and shared remembrances directly at church Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
