Mrs. Josephine R. (Mros) Kozich, 95, formerly of the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, and the Daniel J. Flood Towers, Kingston, fell asleep in the Lord Wednesday evening, October 28th following a recent illness while in the care of Allied Services, Scranton facility.
Born September 19, 1925 in Wilkes-Barre, she was one of seven children to the late Stanley K. and Anna (Piernock) Mros. Educated in the city schools, she was a graduate of the James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre.
After she lovingly raised her own family, Mrs. Kozich did not sit idle. She continued to care for neighborhood children by taking seasonal employment as a school crossing guard in Miners Mills for the Wilkes-Barre Area School District. Above all, she is remembered as being a caring, devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her adoring family, of whom will sorely miss her physical presence in their lives.
Mrs. Kozich was a devoted life member of Holy Assumption of Saint Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, North Wilkes-Barre, where she previously participated in various parish activities.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Joseph N. Kozich Sr. on March 26, 2003. At the time of Mr. Kozich's passing, the couple shared fifty-one years of married life together. Also preceding her were brothers; Joseph, Bernard, Stanley and Robert Mros; and most recently her only sister, Mrs. Jean E. "Queenie" Griffith on May 9, 2017.
Left to cherish the wonderful memories they hold of her are her sons, Jerry S. Kozich and his wife JoAnn of Forty-Fort, who served as Josephine’s caregivers; Joseph N. "Skip" Kozich Jr. and his wife Nancy, also of Forty-Fort and James Kozich of California; Grandchildren, including Joshua, Jessica, Jared Jeremy and Ryan Kozich; Brother, Eugene Mros of Hanover Township; Numerous nieces, nephews, fellow parishioners and dear friends.

Griffith will accompany her to her final resting place as hearse driver.
