Mr. Leonard B. Przywara, C.P.A., 76, a resident of Mountain Top, passed peacefully into Eternal Life just after midnight, Friday, April 11th as an intensive care patient of the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, following a recent illness.
Born on Sunday, September 26, 1948 in Nanticoke, he was one of six children to the late Frank and Stella (Bogdan) Przywara. Educated in the Nanticoke schools, he was a graduate of the former Nanticoke High School. He furthered his education toward his vocation by attaining a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from King's College, Wilkes-Barre.
At the time of his formal retirement in 2016, Mr. Przywara served as the business manager for the Wilkes-Barre Area School District. Previously, he worked as a certified public accountant for Snyder & Clemente Accountants and Consultants in Kingston and also served as the business manager for the Greater Nanticoke Area School District.
Previously, Mr. Przywara was involved with the Nanticoke Little League, volunteering as a coach for over thirty years. He also held the position of treasurer for the Plymouth Township Recreation Association.
In his spare time, he and his beloved wife Deborah were season ticket holders to Penn State Nittany Lions football games and loved taking many ocean cruises together to various ports of call.
He and the love of his life Deborah Antellocy celebrated twenty-eight years of married life together.
Mr. Przywara was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Julia Fine; by brothers, Frank, John and Joseph Przywara and by his mother-in-law, Mrs. Mary Ann Antellocy on August 11, 2007.
Left to cherish the wonderful memories they keep of him in addition to his wife Deborah Antellocy at home are his daughter, Lynn Przywara; Sister, Mrs. Ann Eroh and sister-in-law Mrs. Joan Przywara, both of West Nanticoke; Father-in-law, Mr. Joseph Antellocy of Wilkes-Barre Township and many dear nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Przywara will be conducted on Tuesday morning at 9:15 a.m. from the John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc., 625 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, followed by his funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Hope Parish, 40 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. The Reverend John S. Terry, pastor, will serve as celebrant and homilist.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, 1594 South Main Street, Hanover Township.
Relatives and friends may join the family for visitation and shared remembrances Monday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 8:45 a.m. until the time of services.
