Linda Lou (Hester) Jones

     Ms. Linda Lou (Hester) Jones, 76, a resident of Plains Township, passed into Eternal Life peacefully Thursday morning in the Partridge-Tippet Nursing Center at Wesley Village, where she recently resided; following a prolonged illness.

     Born on Saturday, July 5, 1947 in Laurel Run, she was one of five children to the late Daniel Vincent and Burneatta (Diaz) Hester.  Educated in the city schools, Linda was a member of the 1965 graduating class of the former James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre.

     Until her retirement, she was employed for several years as a clerk for the Luzerne County Probation Office, Wilkes-Barre.

     Above all else, family was paramount and the focal point of her life.  She is remembered as being a loving, devoted mother and grandmother to her adoring family.  Her presence will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved her in this life.  May she now rest in the peace of Our Heavenly Father until we meet again.

     She was preceded in death by siblings, Mrs. Gail Karazia, Mr. Danny Hester and Mrs. Sharon Lee Tobin; by her companion, Mr. Albert Matukitis in 2005, and more recently by her beloved daughter, Ms. Sandi Groszewski on February 16, 2021.

     Left to cherish her memory are her dear granddaughter and caregiver, Deanna L. Groszewski of Pittston; her last surviving sister, Patricia Wiggins of Port Hadlock, Washington; Several generations of nieces and nephews; Close Friends, Ronnie & Linda Young; the St. Clair Family and her beloved dog, "Denver".

     Per the family's request, funeral services for Ms. Jones will be held privately and at their convenience with no formal visitation.
