Ms. Lorraine M. (Sabol) Healey, 73, loving known as “Babb” by family and friends; formerly of Naples, Florida and more recently a resident of North Wilkes-Barre, passed into Eternal Life Thursday, December 21, 2023 while in the care of Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit, Dunmore; following a recent illness.
Born on Tuesday, August 15, 1950 in Wilkes-Barre, she was one of two daughters to the late Emil and Irene V. (Paul) Sabol.
Educated in the city schools, she was a member of the 1968 graduating class of the former James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre. Ms. Healey later furthered her education toward her vocation by taking several college courses locally.
Until her retirement, Lorraine was employed as a hearing stenographer by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. While residing in Florida, she worked for the Collier County government for several years.
In her spare time, she loved to read and was an avid crossword puzzle solver.
Besides her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by nephews, Mr. Edward W. Drevitch in 2010 and Marc E. Drevitch in 2019.
Left to cherish the memories they keep of her are her sister and caregiver, Mrs. Linda Drevitch along with her husband William of North Wilkes-Barre; Daughter, Rae Young and her husband Chris of Naples, Florida; Granddaughter, Molly Young; Cousin Ronald Norakus of Yatesville; Nephew, the Reverend Michael S. Drevitch, West Pittston; Great Niece, Haylee Lynn Drevitch of Naples, FL, several fellow co-workers and dear friends.
Funeral services for Ms. Healey will be conducted on Saturday, December 30th with her memorial funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston. Her nephew, the Reverend Michael S. Drevitch, parochial vicar, will serve as celebrant and homilist.
Inurnment with the Rite of Committal will follow in the Sabol family lot of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Cemetery, Dorchester Drive, Dallas.
Those attending services are asked to assemble directly at church Saturday morning by 9:30 a.m. for a time of visitation.
