Mrs. Marguerite C. (Marsh) Sharry, 91, formerly of Wilkes-Barre's Parsons neighborhood, passed peacefully into Eternal Life Monday morning while in the care of the Partridge-Tippet Nursing Facility of Wesley Village where she and her husband recently resided.
Born November 26, 1929 in Clifton, Passaic County, New Jersey, she was one of two daughters to the late Edward R. and Margarete (Clark) Marsh. Mrs. Sharry completed her high school education at the Benedictine Academy in Paterson, New Jersey, and earned her baccalaureate degree in biology from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Morris Township, New Jersey in 1951. She also later pursued post-graduate studies at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey.
She would eventually meet and marry her beloved husband, Frank R. Sharry on December 8, 1957, sharing sixty-three years of married life together.
Prior to the couple's relocation to her family’s ancestral home in the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, Mrs. Sharry was employed as a bacteriologist for the New Jersey Board of Health in Paterson.
In Wilkes-Barre, Marge did not sit idly. She previously volunteered at the former Little Flower Manor and Mercy Hospital for several years, providing pastoral care for patients at Mercy Hospital.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Sharry was preceded in death by her infant sister, Alice Marsh; and son, Frank Edward Sharry in 2002.
Left to cherish her memory in addition to her husband Frank are the couple's son, Michael P. Sharry and his wife Barbara of Parsons; Grandchildren, Amanda (Lenny) Christopher, Thomas and Frank; two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Aubrey and her dearest friend, Barbara Gilgallon.
In accordance with her wishes, funeral services for Mrs. Sharry will be held privately at the convenience of her family with no formal visitation.
Interment will be in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, 1594 South Main Street, Hanover Township.
The John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc., 625 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre is honored to care for our friend, Mrs. Sharry and her family at this time.
