Marie S. (Simonson) Martin

     Mrs. Marie S. (Simonson) Martin, 94, formerly of Edwardsville, passed into Eternal Life early Wednesday morning in Manor Care Health Services, Second Avenue, Kingston where she resided for the past several years.

     Born May 4, 1926 in Larksville, she was one of six children to the late Ralph and Sarah (Flannagan) Simonson.  Educated in the Larksville schools, she was a member of the 1944 graduating class of the former Larksville High School.

     Mrs. Martin is fondly remembered as being a loving, devoted wife mother and sister to her family.  Her presence will be greatly missed by all those she touched in this life.

     She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. William G. Martin on July 30, 1994.  At the time of his passing, the couple shared some forty-eight years of married life together.  Sadly, the couple experienced the pain of losing their only daughter, Miss Lynn Martin on New Year's Day, 1966 in an automobile accident at the age of seventeen.  Although the eldest, Mrs. Martin was the last surviving sibling having been preceded by two brothers and three sisters.

     Left to cherish the wonderful memories they hold of her are her son, Mr. William M. Martin and his wife, Lynn of Kingston;  Grandsons, Mr. William Martin and his companion Ms. Tiffany Pettis and Mr. Robert Martin along with his companion, Ms. Samantha Havard; Great-grandson, Brody Martin.

     Funeral services for Mrs. Martin will be held privately and at the convenience of her family.  Interment will be next to her husband in the family lot of Memorial Shrine Park, 1831 West Eighth Street, Wyoming.
