Mary Ellen (Febish) Ulicny

      Mrs. Mary Ellen (Febish) Ulicny, 86, of Forty-Fort, passed into Eternal Life late Wednesday, the evening of June 15th in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital following a recent illness.
     Born on Thursday, May 28, 1936 in Wilkes-Barre, she was the only child to the late Richard and Josephine (Giampetro) Febish.
     Educated in the city schools, she was a member of the 1953 graduating class of the former E.L. Meyers High School, where she participated as a cheerleader for sporting events.
     Until her retirement, she was employed as a clerk for former Luzerne County Controller Joseph Tirpak for fifteen years.  Prior to that, she was employed as a teller by the United Penn and Franklin First Federal Banks, both formerly of Wilkes-Barre.
     In her spare time, she had a love of reading; and would often complete two, sometimes three books in a week.  Having a green thumb, she also enjoyed tending to her many seasonal gardens over the years.  Above all, she was a wonderful wife and mother who will be greatly missed by her family and close friends.
     Mrs. Ulicny was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. William F. Ulicny on July 28, 2014.  At the time of his passing, the couple shared fifty-six years of married life together.  Also preceding her were a son, Richard Ulicny; a daughter, Karen J. O'Neill on February 6 also in 2014, and most recently by her close friend, Carol Frail.
     Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Diane M. Wenk of Kingston; son, William J. "Bill" Ulicny, at home; Three grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
     Funeral services for Mrs. Ulicny will be held privately and at the convenience of her family with no formal visitation at this time.
