Michael P. Collins

     Mr. Michael P.  Collins, 59, a resident of Mountain Top, formerly of New Jersey, passed into Eternal Life the evening of Thursday, May 15, 2024 in the comfort of his residence with his beloved Betty at his bedside.

     Born on Sunday, August 30, 1964 in Newark, New Jersey, he was son of the late Joseph F. and Carolann (Borrmann) Nabach and was raised in the Traditional Roman Catholic faith.

     Michael was educated in the New Jersey schools prior to his relocation to Mountain Top.  While living locally, he furthered his education by taking courses at the Luzerne County Community College in Nanticoke.

     His biggest passion in life was his music.  Michael was self taught on several instruments and was a member of several rock bands in the 80s while living in New Jersey.  He went by the stage name Michael Stanley.

     Besides his companion, Elizabeth "Betty" Hockenbury at home, Michael leaves behind his maternal uncles including Dr. Robert Borrman of Palm Coast, FL; Mr. George Borrmann of Louisville, KY and Mr. Paul Borrmann of Washington State; former band mates, fans, along with several cousins and good friends.

     Funeral services for Michael will be conducted on Thursday, May 23rd at 11:00 a.m. from the John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc., 625 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, where a sampling of his original music will be played and shared.

     Interment with prayers of committal will follow in Albert Cemetery, Mountain Top.

     Relatives and friends may join Betty and family for visitation and shared memories of Michael from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.

     In lieu of floral tributes, memorial donations will be accepted at the funeral home for the family.
