Norman T. Saraka, 82, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Thomas Saraka and the late Helen Holodick. He was a graduate of Coughlin High School, Class of 1957, and went on to attend Wilkes University. Norman was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Navy.
For many years Norman was employed at Craft and also a bartender at Vj's Hideaway for several years. He retired from Warp Processing, Exeter. He was a member of the North End Slovak Citizens Club of Wilkes-Barre.
Norman was preceded in death by his brothers, infant brother, Michael Saraka, Timothy Saraka and most recently John Saraka; sisters, Mildred Silveri, Evelyn Lisoski, Irene Spilman and Winifred Gail Pugh; and recently his son-in-law, John Schinse.
Surviving are his children, Debra Schinse, Wilkes-Barre; Susan O'Donnell and companion, David Hutchinson, Wilkes-Barre Twp.; grandchild, Sydney Senczskowicz and her husband, Jonathan, Drums; and three great-grandchildren; Norman's longtime companion, Donna Levandowski; and stepchildren, Edward Levandowski, Wilkes-Barre; Donna Marie Svetlovics and her husband, Lance, Dallas; Mark Levandowski, Clearwater, Fla.; Walter Levandowski, Oakland Park, Fla.; Sean Levandowski, Nanticoke; Peter Levandoski, Bloomsburg; and several step-grandchildren; sisters, Diane Rader, Carlyle; Helen Pugh, Hanover Twp.; and Sharon Ashton, Dallas; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A celebration of Normans life will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc., 625 North Main St., Wilkes-Barre.
