Paige Evans, D.O. Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce that on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, the world lost a compassionate healer, devoted daughter and fiancé with the passing of Dr. Paige Eileen Evans, 38 of Wilkes-Barre.

Paige entered into eternal life early morning while in the care of Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre following a yearlong battle with hepatic carcinoma with her beloved Greg and her mother Linda at her bedside.

Born on Wednesday, July 8, 1987 in Wilkes-Barre, she was one of three daughters to Michael and Linda (Leskiw) Evans of North Wilkes-Barre. Mike and Linda's pride in her accomplishments and love for her continually supported Paige throughout her life.

Educated in the city schools, she was a 2005 graduate of the former James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre.  She later furthered her education toward her profession by graduating from the Luzerne County Community College, Nanticoke; earning her Bachelor’s degree from King’s College, Wilkes-Barre.  During her schooling, she gained hands-on experience in emergency medicine serving as a Paramedic with the Wilkes-Barre City Bureau of Fire and the Plains Community Ambulance.  She then earned her Master’s degree in medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Philadelphia and finally her doctorate in medicine from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, earning her title as Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.

Paige dedicated her life to the medical profession, serving with distinction at the Thomas Jefferson University Medical Center in Philadelphia prior to her illness. Her journey in medicine was not merely a career but a calling that inspired those around her, as she tirelessly worked to improve the lives of her patients.  Her relentless spirit and dedication were guiding lights in both her personal and professional life.  She faced her own diagnosis with the strength and courage that characterized who she was to so many.  Her legacy will live on in the lives she touched - her patients, colleagues, family and friends who admired her unwavering resolve and kindness.

Reflecting on her life, we remember Paige not only as a gifted physician but also as a cherished family member and friend.  Her laughter, compassion, and dedication to healing created warmth that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.  May each of those who loved her now draw comfort from the countless memories they keep and cherish.

Doctor Evans was preceded in death by both her maternal and paternal grandparents.

In addition to her parents Mike and Linda, Paige leaves behind her beloved fiancée, Gregory Freitas at home; Sisters, Ashley Evans and Amber Evans, both of Wilkes-Barre; Several aunts, uncles, cousins, former patients and dear friends.

Per her previous request, funeral services for Paige will be held privately and at the convenience of her family with no formal visitation.
