Paula M. (Morris) Nicely

     Mrs. Paula M. (Morris) Nicely, 69, a resident of Cherry Hill Township, New Jersey, formerly of North Wilkes-Barre and Dallas, passed peacefully into Eternal Life Friday, April 28, 2023 in the Virtua Voorhees Hospital, Voorhees, New Jersey, following a prolonged illness.

     Born on Monday, July 20, 1953 in Wilkes-Barre, she was the fifth of eight children to the late John V. Sr. and Cecilia I. (Kalafut) Morris.

     Educated in the Catholic faith, she was a graduate of the Sacred Heart Slovak Parochial School and Saint Nicholas High School, class of 1971; both formerly of Wilkes-Barre.  She furthered her education by attaining an associate's degree in business administration from then Wilkes College in 1973.

     Paula began her career in business as an advertising assistant, later managing the advertising department for the InterMetro Corporation in Wilkes-Barre.

     More recently, she was the owner and Vice President of Trakstar Incorporated, alongside her husband and son in Cherry Hill.

     Paula was a woman of faith.  She held membership in Christ Our Light Parish, Cherry Hill and was dedicated to witnessing the televised Mass when illness would not allow her to attend physically.

     Above all else, she is best remembered as being a loving, devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her adoring family.  Her presence will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her in this life.

     She and her husband, Charlie celebrated forty-eight years of married life together on October 19th of last year.

     Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ms. Mary Elizabeth Mickulik on May 23, 2017 and more recently by a brother, Mr. John V. Morris Jr. on August 28, 2019.

     Left to cherish her memory in addition to her beloved husband Charles at home, are the couple's sons; Kenneth Nicely and his wife Michelle of Cherry Hill; Thomas M. Nicely, Esquire and his wife, Dr. Kelly Wiltse Nicely of Snellville, GA and Michael Nicely and his wife Melissa of West Deptford, N.J.  Her cherished grandchildren, Addison, Evan, Thomas, Alexa and Scarlett Nicely; Brother and sisters including Sr. Kate Morris, SS.C.M., North Wilkes-Barre; Marcine M. Lukesh and her husband Richard of Exton, PA; Margaret Mary Gelgot and her husband James of Kingston; Ann Marie Sysko of Chinchilla and Stephen J. Morris along with his wife Colleen of Plains Township; Sisters-in-law; Ruth M. Morris, Harvey’s Lake and Carol A. Nicely of Albuquerque, N.M.; Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many wonderful friends.

     Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 4th with her funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Christ Our Light Roman Catholic Parish, 402 North Kings Highway, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.  The Reverend John Picinic, pastor, will serve as celebrant.  Relatives and friends may join the Nicely family for visitation and shared remembrances directly at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass Thursday in Cherry Hill. 

     Then on Friday, May 5th services with the Liturgy of the Word will be conducted locally from the John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc., 625 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre.  The Reverend Monsignor John J. Sempa, pastor of Corpus Christi and Saint Barbara Parishes will serve as celebrant and homilist.  Gathering of family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

     Interment will be held privately and at the convenience of the family in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, 1594 South Main Street, Hanover Township, Pennsylvania.
