Peter Fuller Obituary

    Mr. Peter P. Fuller, 71, a well-known and respected resident of Wilkes-Barre's North End neighborhood, passed suddenly Thursday, June 17th from injuries sustained as a pedestrian in a motor vehicle accident.

     Born December 9, 1949 in Wilkes-Barre, he was one of ten children to the late Samuel K. Sr. and Marie (Harrison) Fuller.

     Educated in the city schools, he was a graduate of the Grand Army of the Republic Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre Heights.

     Following his formal retirement, Mr. Fuller proudly served our country during the Viet Nam War with the United States Marine Corps.  He earned the rank of Lance Corporal at the time of his Honorable Discharge from military duties on June 5, 1975.

     Until his retirement, Peter had been employed both as a truck driver for the Bloomsburg Metal Company of North Wilkes-Barre, as well as in maintenance for the Stella family in their local McDonald's Restaurant franchises.

     He and his beloved wife, the former Mary Jones, celebrated forty-nine years of married life together on March 11th of this year.

     He attended the Bennett-Derr United Methodist Church in Wilkes-Barre's East End.  In his spare time, and enjoying the outdoors, Mr. Fuller was an avid fisherman.  He also enjoyed shooting darts and was on several bowling leagues at Stanton Lanes.  He is remembered as being a "proud veteran" who was a member of the American Legion, Post #609, Lee Park section of Hanover Township and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #6557 of Mountain Top. Socially, he also held membership in the Ukrainian Club; the Lithuanian Club and the North End Slovak Citizens' Club, all of Wilkes-Barre, as well as the I.A.C.C. of Laflin.

     Above all, Mr. Fuller is best known as being a loving and devoted husband, father, poppy, great-poppy, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew and loved him in this life.  His presence will be greatly missed by all those he touched.

     He was preceded in death by a daughter, Miss Kelly Lynn Fulller on October 12, 2017; By siblings, Samuel K. Fuller Jr.; Harry (Buzzy) Fuller Sr.; Daniel L. Fuller; Henrietta (Cookie) Siewell; Linda L. Oliver; Catherine C. Williams and Joan Prednis.

     Left to cherish the wonderful memories they share of him in addition to his wife Mary at home, are the couple's children, Peter Fuller Jr. of Pittsburgh; Patricia Fuller and Cindy Fuller, both of Wilkes-Barre; Ten grandchildren; Nine great-grandchildren; Sister, Mrs. Theresa A. Lyons of North Wilkes-Barre; Brother, Mr. James R. Fuller and his wife Linda of Wilkes-Barre; Numerous nieces, nephews, great--nieces, great-nephews and dear friends.

     Funeral services for Mr. Fuller will be conducted on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. from the John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc., 625 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre.  Pastor Frank P. Harrison of Bennett-Derr United Methodist Church, will serve as celebrant and leader of worship.

     Interment will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.

     Relatives and friends may join the Fuller family for visitation and shared remembrances Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services.
