Mr. Ramon S. Peralta, 80, a resident of Wilkes-Barre, passed into Eternal Life unexpectedly Tuesday morning in Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre shortly after admission.
Born January 20, 1940 in the Dominican Republic, he was a son to the late Ramon M. and Francisca (Polanco) Peralto and was educated in the Dominican schools.
In the Dominican Republic, Mr. Peralta operated a recycling center until his retirement.
He and his wife, the former Gilma Vargas, celebrated fifty-six years of married life together on December 28th of last year.
He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
In an effort to be near family, Mr. and Mrs. Peralta immigrated to the United States, settling in the Wyoming Valley several years ago.
Devoted to their Catholic faith, Mr. Peralta and his family held membership in the Parish of Saint Nicholas, Wilkes-Barre.
Left to cherish the memories they hold of him in addition to his beloved wife Gilma at home are the couple's Son, Omar Ramon Peralta; Daughters, Heidy E. Peralta and Rosanna A. Peralta; Grandson, Heidegger Ragil Guzman Peralta and Granddaughter, Angeyi G. Almanzar Peralta; Several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Peralta will be held privately and at the convenience of his family. Interment with the Rite of Committal will be in Saint Nicholas Parish Cemetery, Pioneer Avenue, Shavertown section of Kingston Township. The Reverend Fidel Ticona, C.S.C., Parochial Vicar to Saint Nicholas Parish will serve as celebrant.
There will be no formal visitation.
