Ronald Urban Obituary

Mr. Ronald J. Urban, 41, a resident of Wilkes-Barre's Miners Mills neighborhood, passed unexpectedly Thursday evening in the family residence.

Born on Monday, December 29th, 1980 in Wilkes-Barre, he would have celebrated his 42nd birthday this week.  He was the elder of two sons to Mr. Ronald E. Urban, at home and the late Mrs. Rose Marie (Yanchus) Urban, who passed away on March 18, 1997.

Educated in the city schools, Ronald was a 1999 graduate of the former James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre where he was captain of the school's football team.  He later took courses at Luzerne County Community College, Nanticoke.

Ronald was a well-known baker for Pizza Bella's original location in Ashley.  Fraternally, he held membership in the North End Slovak Citizens' Club of Wilkes-Barre and was a social member of the Polish American Veterans in Hudson.

Above all else, Ronald is remembered as being a wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend.  His presence will be greatly missed by all those he knew and touched in this life.

Besides his mother Rose Marie who passed in 1997, Ronald was also preceded by his step-mother; Rita (Schutlz-Dziedzic) Urban.

Left to cherish his memory in addition to his father Ronald at home is his father's companion, Dorothy Banta of North Wilkes-Barre; Brother, Robert A. Urban and his wife Audrey of Wilkes-Barre; Nephew and nieces, Colt, Xena and Isis Urban; Step-brother, Bernie Dziedzic of Drums; Step-sister, Darlene Cerullo of Hazleton; fellow co-workers and friends.

Funeral services for Ronald will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 a.m. from the John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc., 625 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre.  The Reverend Peter J. Haenftling, pastor of Saint Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church will serve as celebrant and leader of worship.

Interment will be in the family lot of Fern Knoll Burial Park, Midland Avenue, Dallas.

Relatives and friends may join Ronald's family for visitation and shared remembrances Thursday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. and Friday morning from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of floral tributes, memorial donations in Ronald's memory would be greatly appreciated toward Saint Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 663 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18705.
