Sharon Brew Obituary

Miss Sharon Margaret Brew, 82, a life resident of Wilkes-Barre, passed peacefully into Eternal Life Wednesday afternoon in the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville following complications from the Covid-19 virus.

Born on Monday, January 8, 1940 in Wilkes-Barre, she was one of five children to the late Marvin and Amelia (Weiss) Brew.

Educated in the city schools, she proudly attended the former Elmer L. Meyers Junior-Senior High School, Wilkes-Barre.

In her younger years, Sharon was employed for many years as a well-known and beloved waitress at the former Royal Diner on Public Square in Wilkes-Barre; where she garnered a number of friends over the years.

In her spare time, she and her daughter could often be seen at local bingo halls.  She especially loved listening and dancing to Elvis Presley songs and country music.  Sharon loved to cook; baking being one of her specialties.  Sharing her culinary skills at Thanksgiving with family and friends brought her almost as much joy as making her special anise Christmas cookies for those she loved.

Above all else, Sharon is remembered as being a wonderful, loving and devoted mother and grandma to her adoring family.  Her presence will be greatly missed by all those she touched in this life.

The Minnesota Vikings lost one of their biggest fans.  May she now rest in the peace of our Lord until we meet again.

She was preceded in death by two sisters.

Left to cherish the memories they keep of her are her children, Kyle J. Brew of Sunbury; Kevin J. Brew and his wife Gemma of Ocean City, New Jersey and Cassandra (Candie) Brew of Nanticoke.  Grandchildren, including Justin, Shannon and Anthony Brew; Brother Marvin Brew Jr. of Wilkes-Barre; Sister, Millicent Mohn and her husband David of Reading; Several nieces, nephews, former patrons and dear friends.

Per her previous request, funeral services will be held privately and at the convenience of Sharon's family with no formal visitation.

Memorial services will be announced at an upcoming date and will be posted on the funeral home's website.
