Stephanie A. (Zapotoczny) Sepela

Stephanie Zapotoczny Sepela, 94, of Wilkes-Barre, passed into eternal life surrounded by her family Monday, Oct. 17, 2022, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.

Born May 18, 1928, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Karol and Tekla Daniecka Zapotoczny. She was a graduate of Coughlin High School. She was a housewife and spent her time lovingly caring for her family.

Stephanie was a member of St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre, and previously attended St. Andre Bessette Parish, Wilkes-Barre. Stephanie was an avid Phillies fan and loved to play Scrabble and pinochle.

In addition to her parents, Stephanie was preceded in death in 2011 by her beloved husband of 57 years, John (Rocky) J. Sepela; and her siblings, Stanley and Anthony Zapotoczny and Mary Matzel.

Surviving are her children, John Sepela and wife, Lindsay, Mountain Top; Marie G. Sepela, Wilkes-Barre; Susan Yozwiak and husband, Jerry, Plains Twp.; and Thomas J. Sepela and wife, Kelly, New London; grandchildren, Jonathan Sepela and his wife, Kristin; Alex and Cooper Sechrist; Victoria, Adam (Abby) and Benjamin Yozwiak; Emily, Nicholas, Joshua and Grace Sepela; great grandson, Elliott Rocco Sepela.

She will be missed greatly by her family who loved her.

Her family would like to publicly thank Geisinger ICU at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp., for their care to their mother during her short hospital stay.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Plains Twp. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time.
