Susie K. (Furin) Magga

     Mrs. Susie K. (Furin) Magga, 94, formerly of Hunlock Creek, passed into eternal life late Tuesday evening while in the care of Allied Services Meade Street Skilled Nursing following an illness.

     Born July 5, 1926 in Star Junction, Fayette County, Mrs. Magga was the last surviving of eight children to the late Steve and Zuzana (Pintroch) Furin.  She was later educated in the Westmoreland County schools. 

     Following the family's relocation to the area, Mrs. Magga took employment as a domestic for several years.

     In her spare time, she enjoyed membership in the senior citizens clubs of both Saint Aloysius Church in South Wilkes-Barre and Saint Therese Church in Shavertown.

     She is remembered as being a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her adoring family.  Her presence will be greatly missed by all those she touched in this life.

     Mrs. Magga was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Emil G. Magga on September 10, 1988.  Also preceding her were sons; Emil G. Magga Jr. in 2006, Stephen P. Magga in 2014; Granddaughter, Renee Metroka in 2018; Four brothers and three sisters.

     Left to cherish the memories they hold of her are her daughter, Mrs. Susan A. Metroka and her husband Robert, of Hunlock Creek; Seven grandchildren, including Lori Ann, Benjamin, Matthew, Robert, Katherine, Michael and Vanessa; Eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

     Funeral services for Mrs. Magga will be held privately and at the convenience of her family with interment in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, 1594 South Main Street, Hanover Township.  There will be no formal visitation.
