Teresa Olshefski passed away peacefully at Allied Services Center City on
August 24, 2024 at the age of 96.
She was born in Miners Mills and raised by loving parents Beatrice and
Michael Rocko. Teresa graduated from Wilkes-Barre Township High School and still
could rally cheers from cheerleading days well into her 90’s.
One winter day in 1943 while ice skating in Georgetown, she met Carl Olshefski
who she married in 1947. They were blessed with 4 children. Teresa was a
loving mother who was very devoted to her family. Despite the challenges of
raising the brood Teresa and Carl continued to have weekly Saturday night
dancing dates with the babysitting help of Grandma Bea. The dates were a
ritual the couple continued for 50 plus years until Carl’s death in 2009.
She was also preceded in death by sisters Mary Mrozinski, Sally Pasonick,
Genevieve Keil and Laura Plisko; and brothers Joseph, Charles, Leo and Walter
Konesky.
She is survived by her children Carl Olshefski and wife Lillian, Eileen
Mundenar and husband Joseph, Robert Olshefski and wife Michelle, and Donna
Wilder as well as her grandchildren Lisa Kawczenski, Brian Olshefski, Emily
Mundenar and Nathaniel Mundenar.
Our family is deeply grateful to the caregivers at Allied Services Center City
Skilled Nursing for their loving care of Teresa through these last years. Special
thanks to her nurse Phillip as well as her longtime physician Dr Kish.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the Olshefski family for visitation on
