Theodore Ellison Obituary

Mr. Theodore H. "Ted" Ellison, 82, a resident of the Mayflower section of Wilkes-Barre, passed into eternal life unexpectedly as an emergency patient in Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre Saturday evening.

Born on Monday, July 17, 1939 in San Diego, California during his father's naval deployment, he was one of five children to the late Theodore and Madeline (Savage) Ellison.

Following the family's relocation to the Wyoming Valley, he was educated in the Wilkes-Barre schools, having attended the former Grand Army of the Republic Memorial High School.

Until his retirement, he was employed as a roofer with the Eyerman Roofing Company of Nanticoke.  Previously, in his youth, he worked for the former Heavenly Shoe Company and was a carpeting sub-contractor with his brother John in the Ellison Carpeting Company of Nanticoke.

In his spare time and enjoying the outdoors, Mr. Elllison formerly was an avid hunter.  Despite enjoying his solitude, he is remembered as being a loving brother, uncle and friendly neighbor to those he would come in contact with.  He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Left to hold on to his memory are his sister, Mrs. Alice Kozup of Pittston; Ms. Mary Karen Kinns of Wilkes-Barre and Mrs. Kathleen Brooks of Waveland, Mississippi; his brother, Mr. John Ellison and his wife Nancy of Nanticoke; Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, neighbors and dear friends.

Per his previous request, funeral services and interment for Mr. Ellison will be held privately and at the convenience of his family with no formal visitation.

The John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc. of Wilkes-Barre is honored to care for Mr. Ellison and his family at this time.
