Winter Holiday 04

Thomas Sepkoski

August 29, 1960 ~ December 21, 2021 (age 61)

Obituary

Mr. Thomas Sepkoski, 61, a resident of Wilkes-Barre's Miners Mills neighborhood, passed peacefully and unexpectedly into Eternal Life in the comfort of the family homestead Tuesday morning.

Born August 29, 1960 in Wilkes-Barre, he was one of three sons to the late Theodore and Catherine (Kozlowich) Sepkoski.  Educated in the city schools, he attended the former James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre.

In his youth, Tom previously worked for the Topps Chewing Gum Company in Duryea.

Until his retirement, he had been employed for several years as a corrections officer for the Luzerne County Correctional Facility in Wilkes-Barre.

Mr. Sepkoski was a man of faith who read Scripture passages from the Holy Bible regularly.

Above all else, Tom is remembered as being a devoted father; grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who placed his family at the center of his life.  His absence will certainly leave a void in the lives of all those he touched during his lifetime.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Theodore Sepkoski on November 10, 1977, and most recently by a step-nephew, Maximillian "Max" Manju Mukerjee on February 14, 2020.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Tara Sepkoski, Wilkes-Barre; Thomas L. Sepkoski and his fiancé, Aubri Yefko of Shavertown; John Sepkoski, at home; Ted Sepkoski of Wilkes-Barre and Deseray James and her husband Ronald of Pittston;  Six grandchildren including Kaden, Evan and Troy Sepkoski; Alexis and Trinity Lecitshon and Patience Kearney;  Brother, Bruce Sepkoski and his wife Karen of Miners Mills; Nephews, Nick and Ronald Sepkoski; Niece Robin Gutowski and her husband David; one great niece, one great nephew and several dear friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Sepkoski will be conducted on Monday morning with Panachida at 10:30 a.m. from the John V. Morris Family Funeral Home Inc., 625 North Main Street.  The Reverend Michael Kerestes, pastor of Holy Assumption of Saint Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, will serve as celebrant.  Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in the family lot of Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cemetery, Lake Street, Dallas.

Relatives and friends may join the Sepkoski family for visitation and shared remembrances Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
