Mrs. Trudy K. (Donlevy) Dougherty, 82, formerly a well known and respected resident of Mountain Top, passed into Eternal Life the evening of Thursday, December 26th in Pottstown, following a recent illness.
Born on Tuesday, September 8, 1942 in Lost Creek, Schuylkill County, she was one of five children to the late Francis and Helen (Hanley) Donlevy.
Educated in the Shenandoah area schools, she was a 1960 graduate of the Shenandoah Catholic High School. Later in life, Mrs. Dougherty furthered her education by attaining an Associate's Degree from the Luzerne County Community College in Nanticoke.
Until her formal retirement, Mrs. Dougherty was employed as an administrative assistant for the United Steel Workers of America.
Socially and fraternally, she held membership in the American Legion Post #781 Ladies' Auxiliary of Mountain Top. Proud of her Irish Catholic heritage, she was also previously active with the Luzerne County Board, Wilkes-Barre chapter of the Ancient Order of Hibernians for many years.
Above all else, Trudy is best remembered as being a loving, devoted wife, mother and mom-mom to her adoring family. Her presence will be greatly missed by all those she touched in this life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Francis J. “Frank” Dougherty on September 17th, 2015; a day prior to their fiftieth wedding anniversary. She was also preceded by brothers Francis and John Donlevy and a sister, Mrs. Marie Bradshaw.
Left to cherish all the wonderful memories they keep of her are her children, Francine Wozinski and her husband Mark D. of Mountain Top; Sharon A. Geffert and her husband David of Glenmoore and Joseph Dougherty along with his wife Antoinette of Pottstown. Grandchildren, Kyle, Michael and Jillian Geffert; Sarah and Emily Dougherty; Sister, Mrs. Helen Ann Kelly and her husband Thomas of Pottstown; Several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
